Katie Hayes- Sophomore catcher
Andrew College
January 30- Katie opened her second season batting sixth and catching. She went 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and a RBI in an 11-7 loss at Thomas University.
In the second game of the doubleheader Katie batted fifth and played third base and she went 0-for-3 in a 10-2 loss.
Through two games Katie is 2-for-5 with two walks, two runs scored and a RBI.
February 11- In the first game of a home doubleheader versus Chattahoochee Valley Community College Katie was behind the plate batting sixth and she went 0-for-2 in a 3-2 win. In the second game she was batting fifth and playing third base and she went 1-for-3 with a strike out. Katie hit a three-run home run in the first inning in a 5-4 victory.
Through four games Katie is 3-for-10 with a home run, four RBI’s, one strikeout and two walks.
February 13- Katie was back behind the plate starting and batting fifth in a 7-5 loss to Wallace Community College-Dothan. She went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. In the second game she went 0-for-2 batting fifth and playing third base in a 14-2 defeat.
February 14- in the first game Katie batted fifth and was behind the plate and she went 0-2 with a walk and two strikeouts in a 9-2 home loss to Spartanburg Methodist. In the second game, a 10-2 loss, Hayes was the starting catcher and hit fifth and went 0-for-3.
February 17- Katie and fellow Lady Bulldog Victoria Jordan squared off against each other in a doubleheader. Katie started both games and was behind the plate. In game one, a 5-2 loss, Hayes went 2-for-3 with a double and a runs scored while Jordan was 1-for-2. In game two, a 4-1 loss for Andrew College, Hayes was 0-for-3 while Jordan went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.
Through 10 games Katie is 7-for-27 (.259) with a home run, one double, three RBI’s, one run scored, three strikeouts and three walks.
February 23- In a home doubleheader against Wallace Community College-Dothan. Katie batted fifth and was the catcher in game one and she played third base in the second game. She went 0-for-4 and 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Andrew lost both games 6-2 and 10-5.
Through 12 games Katie is 7-for-31 (.226) with a home run, one double, three RBI’s, two runs scored, four walks and three strikeouts.
February 26- Katie batted fifth and was behind the plate and played third base in a pair of losses at South Georgia. She went 2-for-3 with a RBI in a 10-2 loss and 0-for-2 in an 8-0 defeat.
Through 14 games Katie is 9-for-39 (.231) with one homer, one double, five RBI’s, five runs scored, one stolen base, four walks and four strikeouts.
March 3- Katie played in both games of a doubleheader at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. She batted fifth and caught the first game and played third in the second. Katie hit a solo home run in a 1-for-4 game and a 14-10 loss and then in the second game she went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored in a 10-3 win.
March 5– Katie went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in a 5-2 home win over Darton. In the second game she went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in a 4-2 loss.
Through 18 games Katie is 13-for-53 (.245) with two home runs, two doubles, eight runs scored, six RBI’s, six walks, five strikeouts and one stolen base.
March 14– Katie played in a doubleheader at Tallahassee Community College. She went 0-for-1 and 0-for-2 in two 8-0 losses.
March 15- In a home pair of games against Thomas JV she went 0-for-3 and 1-for-3 as Andrew split winning 3-2 and losing 8-1.
Through 22 game Katie is hitting .226 with two home runs, two doubles, eight runs scored, six RBI’s, six walks, five strikeouts and one stolen base.
March 16- Katie played in a home doubleheader against South Georgia and went 1-for-3 in the first game and 1-for-3 in the second game with a stolen base. Andrew lost both games 3-0 and 13-4.
Through 24 games Katie is 16-for-68 and is batting .235 with two home runs, two doubles, eight runs scored, six RBI’s, six walks, five strikeouts and two stolen bases.
March 24- Katie went 0-for-1 in a 6-2 loss to Georgia Military and 1-for-3 with a run scored in a 7-6 win.
Through 26 games Katie is hitting .236 (17-72) with three doubles, two homers, seven RBI’s, nine runs scored, seven walks, five strikeouts and three stolen bases. She has a .313 on base percentage.
March 28- Katie went 1-for-4 and 0-for-3 as Andrew split with Baton Rouge Community College winning 6-5 and losing 8-4.
March 30- Katie went a combined 5-for-8 against, Victoria Jordan, her former TCHS teammate. Katie went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 6-2 win over ABAC and she went 3-for-4 with a RBI and run scored in a 9-4 victory. Jordan 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and 0-for-3.
April 2- Hayes went 2-for-3 with a walk a RBI and a runs scored in a 11-3 home win over Gordon and then went 0-for-3 with two runs scored in a 12-1 victory. Andrew is 5-3 and tied with East Georgia behind 7-1 South Georgia and 4-2 in the GCAA Standings.
Through 32 games Katie is batting .269 (25-93) with two homers, three doubles, 10 RBI’s, 15 runs scored, four stolen bases, nine walks and six strikeouts. Katie is 8 for her 21 (.381) and has raised her batting average 33 points.
April 9- Katie played two games at East Georgia. Hayes went 0-for-3 and 0-for-1 with two walks. Andrew lost 4-1 and 5-0. Watch a slideshow
April 16- Katie went 1-for-1 with two walks and a run scored in a 6-3 loss at Georgia Highlands. In the second game she went 1-for-4 with a walk, a RBI and three strikeouts. Andrew lost the second game 10-9.
April 19- Katie played in a season-ending doubleheader at Darton and went 0-for-2 and 0-for-3.
