Through eight appearances for the Chillicothe Mudcats in the M.I.N.K. League former Toombs County Bulldog pitcher James Ethredge continues to post stellar numbers. James, who is working out the Mudcat Bullpen, is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA. On June 21 had his longest stint. He pitched three scoreless innings allowing only one base hit.

The only hit allowed was on a broken bat blooper to shallow left field. James stranded that runner at first with another grounder to the right side of the infield handled by the first baseman.

In the sixth set the Clarinda A’s down three up, three down with a swinging strikeout, a grounder to short and bouncing ball back to the mound which he handled easily.

James started off the seventh with a called strike three on a left-handed batter and then another lefty hit a ball deep to right which was caught by the right fielder, who collided with the wall. Ethredge retired his seventh straight Clarinda batter with a grounder to second.

Ethredge opened the seventh inning striking out the first two batters swinging and looking. He hit a batter and gave up a single to put runners on first and third.
