Toombs falls in a Tough One in Macon on Saturday

The Toombs County Football team traveled to Macon on Saturday to face off with Round One opponent Northeast Macon.  The Bulldogs entered Brad Henderson Stadium with a 7-3 Record on the season and the Raiders of Northeast came in at 7-2.  The Raiders were favored by 2 at the kickoff, but the Bulldogs have been the underdog team several times this season.  Toombs struggled offensively in the first half as the Raider Line and Linebacking Corp harassed Senior QB Chandler Lynn early and often.  The Raisers staked a 13-0 lead on the Bulldogs at the half.  Toombs County Coaching Staff made adjustments that seemed to throw the Raiders off their game in the Third Quarter.  Sophomore QB entered the game giving Toombs another advantage by moving Lynn to his Slot Receiver spot.  Senior D>J> Mincey found the endzone for a Bulldog Touchdown later that drive and pulled back with in 13, down 20-7.  On the ensuing kickoff, the Raiser kick Returner lost the ball and Sophomore Wil Watts pick off the ball and scrolled 14 yards for another Toombs County Touchdown.  After Julian Marin-Vital’s PAT, Toombs trailed 20-14.  Unfortunately that is as close as the Bulldogs would get.  Toombs falls in Round one of the GHSA State Playoffs 27-14.  Later this week , I will preview all of the 2021 class that won 30 games in 4 years.
