Toombs has a BIG Night on Senior Night in a Region 2AA Must Win

In Friday’s league game, the Toombs County Bulldogs football team was victorious over the visiting Swainsboro Tigers by a score of 35-14.

The Bulldogs (6-3) played like their season depended on it, because it did.  The Bulldogs are coming off two tough region losses to Jeff Davis and that tripe overtime thriller in Vidalia.  Toombs County relied on their speed and aggressive Red Bullet Defense to put up a safe lead after three quarters.  A Chandler Lynn to Tyler Heath 58 yard touchdown pass and catch, a Derrick Mincey 4 yard touchdown scamper, and a 42 yard punt return for Tyler Heath built a 21-0 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Swainsboro would rally back to pull within one score when Julian Mann picked off a Swainsboro pass and returned it 42 yards for another Bulldog Touchdown.  Mincey would add a finishing 48 yard touchdown run to finish off the Tigers and clinch the Bulldogs their 5th consecutive playoff birth.  Next week the Bulldogs will need a win over the East Laurens Falcons to lock the #3 seed up in the regular season finale.
