Two Bulldogs will wrestle for 3rd place on Saturday at the GHSA Traditional State Tournament

On the second day of the GHSA Traditional 2A State Tournament in Macon, Toombs County’s Chandler Lynn dueled Callaway’s La’Quize Gilbert in the semifinals of the 160 pound bracket. Each wrestler scored a point in the six minutes of regulation completion sending the match to overtime. Neither scored in the first or second OT which consists of 30 seconds. Finally in th third overtime Gilbert scored a point on an escape to win 2-1. Chandler lost a consolation bracket match by a 3-1 score and on Saturday he will compete for fifth place.

Two Bulldogs- Jose Balderos and Arael Rodriguez- battled through the consolation bracket on Friday and they will wrestle for third place. Devante Willis goes for fifth place on Saturday.

106- Jose Balderos won two matches in the consolation bracket. He pinned Rockmart in the second period and then defeated Social Circle 4-2. Jose will wrestle for third place on Saturday.

132- Blake Hall- lost 12-2 in the consolation bracket to end his tourney.

138- Arael Rodriguez won 10-5, pinned an opponent in the third period and won a 9-5 decision and now he will wrestle for third place.

160- Chandler Lynn lost 2-1 in triple overtime in the semifinals which sent him to the consolation bracket where he lost 3-1. Chandler will wrestle for fifth place.

170- Tank Morris won an 8-0 decision in the consolation bracket losing a 6-4 decision ending his state tourney.

285- Devante Willis pinned his first opponent in just 31 seconds and then he won a match 3-2 before losing by a second period pin. Devante will wrestle for fifth place.
