Meadows ends his South Georgia State career with a 4-for-5 game

Former Toombs County Bulldog D.R. Meadows played his last game for South Georgia State in the GCAA Championship versus Gordon and he went 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs batted in and two runs scored.

His Hawks took a 2-1 lead and then fell behind 10-2. However, SGA scored seven straight runs to make it 10-9 Gordon. The Highlanders scored three in the eighth and five in the ninth inning and won the championship 18-11.

On Thursday the Hawks moved into the championship round with an 8-6 win over East Georgia. Meadows went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored.

In four games in the tourney D.R. went 8-for-16 batting .500 with eight runs batted in and three runs scored.

For the season he batted .346 with a .411 on base percentage. Meadows hit 16 doubles, scored 40 runs and drove in 35.

Meadows was voted second team All-GCAA and won a Golden Glove for his defense at third base.
