Bulldogs lose their final home JV game 6-3 to Jeff Davis

The Toombs County Bulldog junior varsity baseball team ended it’s Jacky Jones Field slate of games with a 6-3 loss to Jeff Davis. The Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the in the third and two in the sixth.

Third baseman Gray Stephens led the Toombs County offensive with a 3-for-4 game. In the first inning Kodie Cortez walked scored the first run on a deep double to center field by Stephens. In the fifth Chandler Lynn walked an scored on a single by Stephens and Gray scored on a base hit by Bryson Stanley.

Foster Jones went 2-for-4 and Alex Gordy 2-for-3.

On the mound Stanley pitched the first two innings and he allowed two hits and one walk and no runs. He left the bases loaded in the first inning and a runner on second base in the second.

Gordy pitched two innings and did not yield a hit. He walked two batters and induced three grounders in the fourth and three fly balls in the fifth and he left the bases loaded in the fifth.

Landon Hutchison threw the final two innings and gave up one hit and two unearned runs. He retired Jeff Davis three-up, three-down in the top of the seventh inning.
