D.R. Meadows comes through in the 9th in Chipola’s walk-off tourney win

For all of the Chipola Indians there has been a lot of down time, plenty of waiting on the weather to clear so they could continue playing the FCSAA Tourney. The eight team event began on Friday and was scheduled to end on Tuesday. However, heavy rain in Lakeland, Florida pushed play to Wednesday.

Former Toombs County Bulldog D.R. Meadows made two big contributions to tournament. On Tuesday he did his rain dance which was posted on Twitter.

Then on Wednesday, in his only at bat of the game, he drove in the game winning run in Chipola’s 9-8 over Santa Fe. Meadows stepped to the plate with runners on first and third and two outs. D.R. jumped on the first pitch and hit the ball sharply to the third baseman. The throw to first base was late ending a game which started on Tuesday and ended on Wednesday.
