The Toombs County Bulldogs stroked five doubles and those five two-baggers helped the Bulldogs score five runs in their 7-6 home win over Vidalia. In fact George Lucke’s second double turned out to drive in the game-winning run in the sixth. At the time it gave Toombs a 7-3 lead prior to Vidalia’s three run rally in the top of the seventh.

The victory moved TCHS to 4-7 in Region 2. Metter knocked off Swainsboro 6-2 as the Tigers remained in fourth place in the region with a 5-6 record. The Tigers scored four runs in the sixth to push a 2-1 lead to 6-1.

Brock Harrison hit the first Bulldog double in the second and he drove in the first two TCHS runs. Dalton McBride hit an opposite field single to right to drive in two more to make it 4-0 after two.

The Indians scored three in the top of the third inning on back-to-back doubles by Tyrin Page and Alex Sutton. Sutton hit two doubles and the Indians had four total in the game. Hunter Poole also singled in a pair of runs in the third to cut the Dawg lead to 4-3.

Toombs County scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth. D.R. Meadows hit a sacrifice fly to right, Brandon Helton doubled and Lucke doubled twice.

Vidalia rallied in the top of the seventh and scored one run on a bases loaded walk and  two on a Toombs County error. Relief pitcher D.R. Meadows ended the game with a strikeout.
