TCMS Bullpups score 7 runs in the 6th in a 12-7 win over Reidsville

Trailing 7-4 going to the bottom of the sixth inning, the Toombs County Middle School Bullpups put together their biggest inning of the season. The Pups scored seven runs in a 12-7 home victory over Reidsville.

Bryar Douberly opened up the bottom of the sixth with an infield hit, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Carson Braddy single to left. Derrion Harris reached on an infield hit and Dawson Brantley walked. Kodie Cortez reached on an error and a run scored to cut the lead to 7-6.

Ashton Luke tied the game at 7-all reaching on an error and then Jason Dukes, who just missed an opposite field base hit on a shot that was just foul, was hit by a pitch, with the bases loaded, to put the Pups up 8-7. Zeke Barnett drove in a run with a base hit and Douberly walked with the bases loaded to make it 10-7. Braddy ended the scoring with his third hit of the game. The third baseman’s single to right field scored two Bullpups.

The game was called prior to the top of the seventh due to darkness. Logan Knight started the game and the lefty pitched five innings and allowed seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Harris threw one inning and allowed three hits and was the winning pitcher.
