6th grade Bullpups are off to a 2-0-1 start

Through three games the first ever 6th grade Toombs County Middle School Bullpups have won two games and tied one. The Pups have three more regular season games remaining- at home on October 13 versus Jeff Davis, at home against Bacon 2 on October 20 and at Vidalia on October 27. All games are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.


On November 3 there will be two playoff games. The top two teams in the five team league will play for the championship at the number one seed and the third and fourth place teams will play at the number three seed for third place. Both games will start at 6.


Game 1- Toombs County 16, Bacon 16 in Lyons

The first sixth grade Toombs County Middle School football game featured some big plays, some hard hitting and two 16 point runs in a 32 minute game which ended in a 16-16 tie in Lyons. TCMS scored the first 16 points on touchdown runs in opening minute of both the first and second quarters. Bacon 1 returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown and scored it’s second TD with 1:40 to play in the game. Both teams went 2-for-2 on two point conversions.

Game 2- Toombs County 12, Jeff Davis 7 at Jeff Davis


Game 3- Toombs County 7, Vidalia 6 in Lyons

Vidalia scored a second quarter touchdown, but failed on the conversion run to take a 6-0 lead. In the third quarter TCMS drove 70 yards and Silas LaGrant scored on a five-yard run and then ran the conversion in for the 7-6 lead.
