Moore drives in five runs and pitches six innings in TCHS Region 2 win

Senior Courtney Moore went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs at the plate and she pitched six innings in relief and allowed only one run in Toombs County’s 8-4 win at Swainsboro.

Moore singled in a run in a two-run first inning, doubled in a pair of runs in a two-run fourth and broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning with a two-run single. Liilian Pittman also drove in two runs in the sixth with a single to left.

Leadoff hitter Amanda Powell went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, Amber Braddock was 1-for-2 with three runs scored, Megan Dukes 2-for-4 and Taylor Thompson and Lexi Martin each had a hit.

The two teams will meet again, in Lyons, on Wednesday (September 28) at 5:30 p.m. in the Region 2 playoffs.
