
The Toombs County Lady Bulldog (2-2) softball bounced back from back-to-back home run rule losses, to New Hampstead and Jeff Davis, with a 10-6 victory over New Hampstead in Savannah.
In the first game with the Lady Phoenix, TCHS pitching walked 20 batters throwing a wet softball. In Savannah the ball was dry and Taylor Thompson struck out 10 batters and walked five in her complete game win. She did not allow a hit after the fourth inning and retired the last six hitters she faced in a row.
Leadoff hitter Amanda Powell energized the offense by going 4-for-5 with two singles, a double and a triple. The senior drove in a run and scored twice.
Courtney Moore also had a multi-hit game. The senior went 2-for-3 with a single, a double and a walk. She stole two bases and scored two runs. Courtney is 7-for-13 in the first four games of the season giving her a .538 batting average. Sophomore Lillian Pittman went 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, two runs scored and a RBI.
Amber Braddock went 1-for-5 and Brittney Beckum 1-for-4 with a run scored.
