One of Berry Aldridge’s final goals of his baseball career is to total at least 100 hits for the Armstrong State Pirates. On his senior day Berry went 1-for-4 with a walk and he stroked his 94th hit in the bottom of the ninth with a first pitch base shot against a submarine style right-handed pitcher from Georgia College. The Bobcats hit a grand slam in the first and the Bobcats broke a 6-all tie by scoring two runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and three more in the ninth in a 12-8 win. slideshow

The former Toombs County Bulldog says despite all he has accomplished at Armstrong his personal highlight remains hitting the walk-off home run, off the left field foul poll, to win game three, against Berrien County, in the second round of the state playoffs in 2010.

Berry’s immediate plans are to intern with the Savannah Bananas minor league baseball team this summer and his long term goal is to work in the front office of a major league team.
