D.R. Meadows opened the game with a single and courtesy runner Tristan Lynn scored on a hit by George Lucke to give the Bulldogs their only lead of the game at 1-0. The Herons scored two runs in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by James Morgan and Cameron Moore.
TCHS tied the game at 2 in the top of the third inning. Logan McGowan walked and Christian Conley drove him in with a single. Meadows, who pitched a complete game, retired nine straight batters until the fourth inning when the Herons scored six runs to break the tie and take an 8-2 lead. Jared Bartlett singled in one run and Kade Rowell drove in two with a single. The Bulldogs made an error and three of the runs were unearned.
The Bulldogs bounced right back and scored three runs in the fifth to cut the lead to 8-5. McGowan and Nick Curtis singled and both scored on a Jordan Usher single to right. Lucke scored the third run. Brantley County scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the fifth.
Mikel Collins relieved Thrift in the fifth and he struck out seven batters and walked six. However, he did not give up a hit in his three innings of work.
