Big night at Bacon- a Bulldog sweep

For the first time this season the Toombs County basketball teams both won on the same night. The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs both were victorious in their first trip to the new Bacon County Gym and both teams won by double-digits. The Lady Bulldog beat Bacon for the second time this season 43-17 and the Bulldogs avenged a nine-point home loss to the Raiders with a convincing 64-40 win in Alma. Watch a slideshow

The only similarity between the two Bulldog versus Raider games this season was the 3-point shooting of Toombs County junior Jalen Mobley. He made six 3-pointers in each game. Mobley scored 20 points, on his home floor against Bacon, by sinking a 3-ball in each of the first three quarters and then three more in the fourth. In Alma, Jalen hit his first three 3’s and then he dropped in three more while scoring a game-high 22.

D.R.Meadows made three 3-pointers and scored 14 points and Bronza Jones scored three points on a 3-pointer giving TCHS 10 3-balls, three days away from Christmas Day. Jordan Usher contributed seven points, Tyrese Lewis six, Keshawn Morgan four and Alex  Blount, Karis Harden, Alex Dillard and Shawn Floyd each had two for the 3-9 Bulldogs who have now won their last two roads in a row.

The Lady Bulldogs were even more dominating in their second win over Bacon County. TCHS led 20-7 at half and won 43-17.

Dominique Jones hit a variety of shots and scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half. JoAnn Gomez kept driving to the bucket and scored 12. Christine Mobley added six points, Kiwi Knight five, Jocelyn Walker and Demetria Jones each had three and Asia Shipman two. The Lady Bulldogs are 5-7.
