Two champs- Benton wins 4th title, Hawkins takes 2nd

In what was an historic night for Toombs County High School wrestling, the Bulldogs produced two state champs and a school best third place finish in Double A. Bryan Benton made history by winning his fourth state title. Benton opened up a 7-1 lead over Cam Thurmond of Jefferson and he won the match 11-3, just one week after losing to Thurmond 4-2 in the East Sectional finals.  Watch highlights 

Demery Hawkins, who made the finals four straight years, won his second state title by wrestling a smooth, efficient match and he defeated Jefferson’s Patrick Allen 12-4.  Watch Highlights
