The Toombs County Lady Bulldogs battled Harlem for 80 minutes of regulation soccer, 15 more minutes of overtime and eventually this epic match went to penalty kicks tied at 3-all. The Toombs County Bulldogs opened up play in the GHSA State Tournament against an old rival from the days they were in the same region. Dublin and the Dawgs played some close and intense matches. Both the Lay Bulldogs and Bulldogs defeated Metter and then Jeff Davis to qualify for the GHSA Tournament as number three seeds. The 2019 Toombs County Soccer teams celebrated Senior Night with a pair of home wins over Metter. The Lady Bulldogs won 4-1 and the Bulldogs shutout Metter 3-0. The Toombs County High School soccer teams won back-to-back road matches at Claxton and Bryan County. The Lady Bulldogs shutout Claxton 3-0 last Thursday and then on Tuesday in Region 2 play they scored six first half goals in a 9-0 victory. The Toombs County Soccer teams scrimmaged Statesboro to open up the 2019 season. In the girls match Statesboro won 2-1. Sophomore Laura Sanchez scored the on Lady Bulldog goal in the second half.
