Both Toombs County soccer teams qualify for state as number 3 seeds

The Toombs County High School soccer teams both had a good week in Region 2 Tournament action. Both the Lay Bulldogs and Bulldogs defeated Metter and then Jeff Davis to qualify for the GHSA Tournament as number three seeds. Toombs County Soccer sweeps Metter on Senior Night

The 2019 Toombs County Soccer teams celebrated Senior Night with a pair of home wins over Metter. The Lady Bulldogs won 4-1 and the Bulldogs shutout Metter 3-0. Cindy Vera, Brooke Coxwell, Rilyn Fitzgerald and Ashley Venegas scored for the Lady Bulldogs. Julian Marin-Vital scored two goals for the Bulldogs and Ricardo Santana kicked in one. Y-101 story

Toombs County High School soccer teams win back-to-back road matches

The Toombs County High School soccer teams won back-to-back road matches at Claxton and Bryan County. The Lady Bulldogs shutout Claxton 3-0 last Thursday and then on Tuesday in Region 2 play they scored six first half goals in a 9-0 victory. The Toombs County Soccer teams scrimmaged Statesboro to open up the 2019 season. In the girls match Statesboro won 2-1. Sophomore Laura Sanchez scored the on Lady Bulldog goal in the second half.
