Trapping Indians beat the Bulldogs in the Region 2 Semifinals

The Vidalia Indians half court defense trap menaced the Toombs County Bulldogs in the semifinal round of the Region 2 Tournament at Vidalia. The Indians went on a 16-4 run in the fourth quarter in their 60-39 victory. The Bulldogs will play Metter on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for third place in the region. Jeff Davis downs Toombs County twice in Region 2 play

The Jeff Davis High School basketball teams took a pair of Region 2 basketball games in Hazlehurst from Toombs County. JD won the girls game 42-30 and the boys game 71-55. Bulldogs end December with a 4-game winning streak

Four-game winning streaks have been relatively rare in Toombs County Boys basketball. Since the 2006-07 season the Bulldogs have won four games in a row only three times including their current four-game win streak. TCHS Bulldogs win back-to-back games as they double their win total from last season

Four Toombs County High School basketball players scored in double figures as the Bulldogs opened up their home schedule with a 69-57 win over Screven County.
