TCHS Red Coat Band Camp

  The Toombs County High School Red Coat Marching Band is holding it’s annual band camp. The hours are long- 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the temperature is hot- in the upper 90’s. Sixty-five Red Coats are learning new songs and steps. The theme this football season will be songs about fire. Slideshow

Jake Davis wins two GRPA State Titles

Jake Davis, a recent Toombs County High School graduate, ended his GRPA swimming career by winning two state titles in Tifton. Davis, who specialized in the freestyle stroke for the Bulldogs, won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races. Jake has been swimming in the GRPA State meet since 2007 and this was the first time he has won a state title. His best finish prior was second. Watch both races In the…

Lyons Mite Girls surge to a 3rd place finish

  The Lyons Mite Girls have fun while they are playing hard and that formula proved successful as they finished second in the District 1 Tournament and third in the GRPA State Tournament in Effingham County. Lyons Fleas win GRPA State Championship

The Harris brothers, Cameron and Trevon, started and ended the bottom of the sixth inning with big hits as the Lyons Flea Boys baseball team edged Vidalia 3-2 to win the GRPA 8 and under State Tournament.
