Toombs County is moving down to Double A

Toombs County High School athletics spent 18 consecutive seasons in class AA in GHSA- from the 1996 football season through 2014 spring season. TCHS wrestlers talk about their first action of the season

The Toombs County High School wrestlers moved in to their new wrestling room this week. The Bulldogs had been practicing in the old high school gym, but when the competition cheerleading season came to an end they inherited the Cheer Dawgs practice room. TCHS basketball opens new season in the new gym

The Toombs County High School basketball teams opened the 2015-16 season in the brand new TCHS Gym. Joann Gomez scored the first Lady Bulldog bucket, Keshawn Morgan scored the first Bulldog point, D.R. The Toombs County Middle School soccer teams took care of visiting Dodge County with a pair of shutouts. The Lady Bullpups went first and they blanked Dodge 2-0 and then the Bullpups followed with a 3-2 victory. Julian Marin and Omar Aguilar each scored two goals and Kevyn Perez scored once to lead the Toombs County Middle School Bullpups to a 5-1 home win over Bleckley County. The Pups are 2-0 in the MGMSAA. The Bleckley County Girls scored two goals in the second half in a 2-0 win over TCHS. The Lady Bullpups are 1-1.

TCHS wrestling season opens with varsity and JV teams winning a trophy

The Toombs County Bulldogs opened the wrestling season two weeks early and both the varsity and junior varsity teams brought home a trophy. Lyons 9 and 10 All Star Football

The Lyons 9 and 10 year old All Star football team played host to a four team jamboree in Booster Stadium. Swainsboro beat Glennville 22-0 to finish first. Metter edged Lyons 12-6 in the third place game. In the first game of the day Glennville defeated Lyons 12-6. Glennville scored on two big plays. Long County rules in Ludowici

The Long County High School basketball teams swept a pair of scrimmage games in Ludowici. The Lady Blue Tide won 72-52 and the Blue Tide ended the evening with a 75-58 victory. Long range shooting guard Jalen Mobley topped TCHS with 21 points. The junior hit four 3-pointers and made 9-of-12 free throws including 6-of-6 when he was fouled shooting a 3-ball.
