TCMS softball season ends at J.R. Trippe

The Toombs County Lady Bullpup softball season ended with a 10-2 MGMSAA first round playoff loss at J.R. Trippe. The Lady Chiefs scored five runs in the sixth to end the game one inning early. Jamar Smith leads Holmes in tackles

As a Toombs County Bulldog Jamar Smith usually led the team in rushing. These days at Holmes Community College, in Mississippi, Smith is leading those Bulldogs in tackles through four games. Jamar, who wears number nine and plays linebacker, leads Holmes with 28 total tackles- 17 solo tackles and 11 assist. He has one sack for minus seven yards. She didn’t lead the whole way, but she did lead most of the way. Toombs County Middle School’s Crystal Morales won her first race of the season running the two mile course around TCMS, Lyons Upper Elementary and the pond in 13:47 and she held off a competitor, from Richmond Hill, by a nine second margin at the finish line. The Toombs County volleyball team split two three set home matches against two region opponents. First the Net Dawgs avenged a two set loss to Jenkins High School, in Savannah by beating the Lady Warriors 25-13, 21-25 and 25-12. Bulldogs sputter in 18-7 loss to Beach

In the final three quarters at Vidalia, the Toombs County Bulldogs scored two touchdowns and kicked two field goals. Big plays burden JV Bulldogs

The Tattnall County junior varsity broke two big running plays against the visiting Toombs County Bulldogs in a 22-7  victory. The Warriors scored on a 65-yard run on the game’s first play from scrimmage and a run of equal distance in the second half. The Bulldogs opened the second half with a 16-play drive which ended on a fourth and three TD run by freshman quarterback Ashlee Ashley.
