TCHS softball sweeps the Coastal Empire

The Toombs County Lady Bulldogs swept two teams from the Coastal Empire in the equivalent of one regulation game- seven innings. TCHS beat Savannah 15-0 in three innings and Johnson 12-0 in four.                                     The ECI Bulldogs scored an early second quarter touchdown on a 40-yard run by Ricky Lee and a late third quarter TD on a short run by Bobby McNear to defeat Toombs County 14-0 in three quarters of varsity play. TCHS Net Dawgs lose a tough 3rd setter to West Laurens

In their first 2015 match with West Laurens on the road the Toombs County High School volleyball team lost two sets to one. Net Dawgs open new TCHS Gym with two wins

The Toombs County volleyball team was the first squad to play another school in the new Toombs County High School Gym and the girls are the first to win as well.  The Net Dawgs beat a pair of Coastal Empire teams. Toombs swept Johnson 25-8 and 25-10 and then later in the evening the girls beat Savannah 24-26, 25-19 and 25-20. Watch a slideshow

Abigail Lynn clears the fence, but nobody wins again

For the second time in her Lady Bulldog career shortstop Abigail Lynn hit a home run in a game that nobody won. In 2014 she belted a solo shot in the third inning, on a 1-0 pitch, over the left field fence at Vidalia High School. However, rain ended that game tied at 1-all and it was never completed. The Toombs County Lady Bulldog softball team won their final two games at the Warrior Blast Tournament in Reidsville. Bradwell breaks big plays in 26-8 win over TCHS

In a 2014 scrimmage in the Pit, Toombs County and Bradwell Institute played to a scoreless tie. In a rematch, back in Lyons, the two varsity squads combined for 34 points in Bradwell’s 26-8 victory.   The Toombs County volleyball team opened the 2015 season with a third place finish at the Chatham County Open. Savannah Arts and Islands finished first and second respectively. Southeast Bulloch placed fourth. The Net Dawgs opened beating Johnson (Savannah) in straight sets.
