Twenty-seven days after the Toombs County Bulldogs beat Appling County by 11 in Baxley and the Lady Bulldogs lost to the Lady Pirates by 20, the results were reversed in the rematch in Lyons. The Toombs County Middle School basketball teams opened up the regular season with a pair of losses at West Laurens and at home to Swainsboro. Swainsboro won the girls game 44-14 and the boys game 33-10. Diamond Logan led the Lady Bullpups with six points and Tyler Smith topped the Bullpups with four points and four blocked shots. Bulldog wrestlers are Region 1 Dual champs again

For the second straight year the Toombs County wrestling team is the Region 1 AAA Dual champions. The Dawgs rolled through the tournament, in Blackshear, by shutting out Savannah 80-0 and beating Dodge County 63-18 and Appling County 57-16 in the championship match. Dodge County dominates the second half

The Dodge County basketball teams dominated the second half of a doubleheader sweep of Toombs County High School in subregion action in Eastman. The Dodge girls and boys outscored Toombs by a combined 91-24 in the second half as the Lady Indians won 64-15 and the Indians took care of the Bulldogs 76-34. Treutlen rolls up three large wins over TCHS

In the first basketball action of 2016 Treutlen High swept Toombs County in three games in Soperton. The Vikings won the varsity boys game 102-59 and the junior varsity match up 60-28 and the Lady Vikings defeated TCHS 69-38. Bulldog Brawl- Day 1- Dawgs lose close 1st place dual to Hilton Head

The Toombs County varsity wrestling team rolled through pool play in the Bulldog Brawl at the TCHS Gym. The Dawgs spanked Brookstone 68-6, beat Region 1 AAA foe Dodge County 54-24 and shutout Hilton Head’s junior varsity team 72-0. The last Toombs County High School sports action of 2015 featured two exciting close basketball loses to visiting Tattnall County.
