TCHS wrestlers win once and lose twice on the second day of the GHSA State Duals

The Toombs County Bulldogs opened the second day of the GHSA AAA Team Dual Wrestling Championship with a 48-19 loss to Lumpkin County. However, the Dawgs bounced back in the consolation round with a 40-36 win over Spencer. Then later in the day TCHS was knocked out of the tourney by McNair by a score of 38-31. Morales and Morgan propel Toombs County to GHSA State Dual victory over Calhoun

Since 2008 Toombs County High School has had two state tourney match ups with Calhoun and both times the Yellow Jackets prevailed. Twenty-seven days after the Toombs County Bulldogs beat Appling County by 11 in Baxley and the Lady Bulldogs lost to the Lady Pirates by 20, the results were reversed in the rematch in Lyons. The Toombs County Middle School basketball teams opened up the regular season with a pair of losses at West Laurens and at home to Swainsboro. Bulldog wrestlers are Region 1 Dual champs again

For the second straight year the Toombs County wrestling team is the Region 1 AAA Dual champions. The Dawgs rolled through the tournament, in Blackshear, by shutting out Savannah 80-0 and beating Dodge County 63-18 and Appling County 57-16 in the championship match. Dodge County dominates the second half

The Dodge County basketball teams dominated the second half of a doubleheader sweep of Toombs County High School in subregion action in Eastman. The Dodge girls and boys outscored Toombs by a combined 91-24 in the second half as the Lady Indians won 64-15 and the Indians took care of the Bulldogs 76-34. In the first basketball action of 2016 Treutlen High swept Toombs County in three games in Soperton. The Vikings won the varsity boys game 102-59 and the junior varsity match up 60-28 and the Lady Vikings defeated TCHS 69-38.
