Beasley sets down 6-out-of-7 Ogden Raptors in his last appearance of the season 

Jeremy Beasley wrapped up a very successful first summer pitching pro ball by throwing two scoreless innings in the Pioneer League Playoffs. In the first game of the best-of-three South Division Championship Series at Ogden, Utah Jeremy pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth inning in the Orem Owlz 9-4 loss. The Owlz also lost game two 7-3 to end the season. Beasley allowed one hit and struck out one batter while inducing five ground ball outs and one liner to left field.

In his final five outings and 10 1/3 innings Beasley allowed only one earned run while striking out 11 batters without a walk.

Jeremy yields a homer and five hits, but just one run

Jeremy Beasley pitched the eighth and ninth innings in the Orem Owlz 6-4 home loss to Idaho Falls. He yielded five hits, but only allowed one run on a solo homer by Travis Jones, who hit two home runs in the game. Beasley stranded runners on first and third in the eighth and one at second in the ninth.

Beasley gets the call again and throws 2 1/3 scoreless innings

September 4- For the first time in his professional career Jeremy Beasley got to pitch three times in a week for the Orem Owlz. The end result 6 1/3 innings pitched and only three hits and no earned runs allowed with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Jeremy pitched the final 2 1/3 innings of the Owlz’s 8-7 loss at Idaho Falls. He allowed two hits and struck out two batters.

Beasley pitching on 2 days rest tosses 2 2/3’s and yields only a hit

September 1– Jeremy Beasley has been pitching normally on four days rest since joining the Orem Owlz. However, with the Pioneer League Playoffs coming up Beasley pitched on only two days rest at Ogden, Utah. He threw 2 2/3 innings and allowed only one hit with four strikeouts in the Owlz 10-4 win.

Ogden’s only hit off Beasley came in the eighth inning on a double. Three runs scored in that inning including two which reached while Jeremy was pitching. However, all three runs were unearned as the Owlz made two errors in that frame.

Beasley retires Grand Junction 4 up, 4 down

August 29- Jeremy Beasley entered a one-sided game with two outs in the eighth inning and he retired all four Grand Junction batters which he faced on two ground outs, a fly ball and a strikeout swinging. The Orem Owlz lost the road game 18-8.

Jeremy takes a loss in Ogden

August 22- Jeremy Beasley entered a 7-7 game starting the bottom of the seventh and for the first time in his pro career he took a loss. Jeremy pitch 1/3 of an inning an allowed three hits and a walk and all four base runners scored. Three of the runs were earned.

Tough night for the Owlz and Jeremy

The Orem Owlz are the dominant team in the Pioneer League this summer winning over 70% of the time through 54 games and Jeremy Beasley had a .60 ERA in 15 innings of pitching in the league. However, on August 18 in a home game against Ogden, the second best team in league, the Owlz lost by yielding 17 runs and Beasley’s ERA took a hit after this stint in which he allowed three earned runs in 2 1/3 innings. Jeremy yielded four hits and walked five while striking out three batters. His Orem ERA went from .60 to 2.08.

Beasley did finish strong striking out the number eight and nine hitters swinging. For the second straight outing Jeremy yielded a homer to the first batter he faced. Mitchell Hanson, who was a second round pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015 out of high school, pulled a pitch and hit it over the right field fence.

Orem scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth and lost 17-14.

July 29- When Jeremy Beasley entered his fourth Pioneer League game, with two outs in the seventh, the Orem Owlz were leading Idaho Falls 14 to 6 on the road and this season the Owls have dominated the Chukars winning  now 10 out of 11 games after a 15-8 win.

The Chukars had 18 hits, but only one off Jeremy in his 1 1/3 innings on the mound. Four of the five batters which Beasley (right-handed pitcher) faced were left-handed hitters including Offerman Collado, who blooped a 2-2 pitch into left center field for a base hit, with one out, in the eighth inning. Left-handed hitters are batting .182 against Beasley and right-handers .053.

Jeremy entered the game with a runner at first base and he struck out a left-handed hitter swinging on a 2-2 pitch.

Beasley threw 19 pitches in the eighth inning and he struck out a lefty swinging on a 1-2 pitch and a righty on a 3-2 pitch. The final out of the eighth was on a grounder to second base. Franklin Torres moved to his left and scooped up a grounder and threw to first to end Jeremy’s outing.

Beasley has not allowed a run or an earned run in 11 1/3 consecutive innings in both the Arizona League and the Pioneer League. He has pitched seven scoreless innings since joining the Owlz.

Jeremy Beasley is promoted and makes his Orem Owlz debut on the same day

July 15- Jeremy Beasley assigned to Orem Owlz from AZL Angels.

Orem plays in the Pioneer League which is a Rookie League. The Owlz lead the Southern Division with a 17-7 record.

Jeremy entered a road game in Billings, Montana with Orem leading 4-2. He pitched two innings and earned a hold for holding the lead. He walked three batters, struck out two and did not allow a hit or a run.

Jeremy walked two of the first three batters that he faced. One runner was picked off at first base by the catcher and the other was stranded at second base.

The seventh inning walk came after two strikeouts and that base runner was thrown out at second base by the catcher.

The game was played before an announced crowd of 3,178 fans.

Jeremy has now faced 25 consecutive batters without allowing a hit. During this span the four base runners have reached on three walks and an error.

Jeremy pitched four times in the Arizona League and had a 3.18 ERA and was 1-0 in 5 2/.3 innings. After giving up three hits and two earned runs in his professional debut. He faced 18 batters and retired 17 and the other batter reached on an error.

The former Bulldog entered the Arizona League game, against the Giants, in the top of the ninth with his Angels trailing 6-4. Jeremy had retired 14 consecutive batters in his last three outings.
 
Unfortunately, the first batter which he faced reached on a throwing error by the shortstop. Beasley induced a fly ball to center and he struck out a batter swinging and then with two down the catcher picked off the runner at first base.
 
The Giants won the game 8-4 dropping the Angels record to 8-4.
 
Beasley is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA. He has allowed two earned runs on three hits in 5 2/3 innings in his four outings. He has struck out six batters and has not walked one. Teams are hitting .150 against him and his WHIP is .53. 
17 consecutive batters have swung the stick against Beasley without reaching base on a hit.

Jeremy Beasley earns his first professional victory

In the future it won’t be hard for Jeremy Beasley to remember the date of his first professional victory because the milestone occurred on the Fourth of July, 2017. Beasley pitched two perfect innings and struck out four batters in the top of the eighth and ninth innings in the Angels 3-2 home win over the Mariners. The Arizona League game began at 10 a.m. local time, in Tempe, Arizona, with a temperature of 100 degrees.

In his last three professional outings Jeremy has retired 14 batters in a row on five strikeouts, three ground outs, two pop ups to the infield and four fly balls to the outfield.

Jeremy Beasley retires the Rookie League Padres 5 up, 5 down

In his second professional outing Jeremy Beasley retired all five batters which he faced and he earned a hold for holding the lead as the Angels Rookie League team 5-0.

Jeremy has now thrown 2 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks and he has retired the last eight batters he has faced in a row.

Jeremy Beasley made his professional debut, for the Angels Rookie League team in the Arizona League pitching the seventh inning. He allowed two singles and a two run triple before getting three straight outs to end the inning.
