At Greg James Field, the Toombs County Bulldogs met to take on the Vidalia Indians in game two of three and the Bulldogs lost 9-2.
The Indians out hit the Bulldogs nine hits to two. The first inning went scoreless for both teams. The Indians scored a run in the bottom of the second, when Indian RF Jordan Walden reached on an error to score pitcher Caden Spivey who reached on a walk.
The Indians then scored three in the bottom of the third. Walker Moncus had an RBI single and Michael Blount had a 2 run RBI double. The Indians scored two more in the bottom of the fifth on a RBI single by Landry Mead and a RBI by Ty Dalley.
The Bulldogs finally got on the board in the top of the sixth scoring two runs. Senior Chandler Lynn reached on a walk, Senior Chase Musselman reached on an error and Junior Bryson Stanley hit into a fielder’s choice advancing Lynn and Musselman to second and third. Sophomore Wil Watts drove them in on a 2 run RBI double. Vidalia scored three more in the bottom of the sixth and took the game after the top of the seventh.
Musselman pitched 4 2/3 innings for TCHS. He allowed seven hits, five runs in which three were earned, gave up two walks and had four strikeouts.
The Bulldogs are now 2-3 on the region and 10-7 overall.
TCHS will be back in action Thursday, April 1 at home to finish up the series with Vidalia. The first pitch will be at 5:45 and it will be live on Y-101 100.9 and streamed on our YouTube page.
