D.R. Meadows strokes his 5th straight 2-hit game

Columbus State leadoff hitter D,R. Meadows is on a multi-hit run. In his last five games the junior third baseman has gone 2-for-something. He went 2-for-4 versus Montevallo and also 2-for-4 in the two games he played against Lander. On Saturday- in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader at Augusta- Meadows went 2-for-6 in each nine-inning game as CSU swept the Jaguars 8-0 and 9-4.

The Cougars, who have won nine games in a row, are 16-3 overall and they lead the PBC with a 10-1 record.

Meadows has tallied two-hits in 10-of-the-18 games in which he has played. He is hitting .417 during his current five-game hitting and he has raised his batting average from .233 to .286 with three doubles, 13 runs scored and 7 RBI. D.R. leads the conference in steals with 7.

In game one Meadows jumped on the first of the game and singled to left field and he scored on a grand slam by Bryson Horne.

D.R led off the second inning with a double down the left field line and he scored on an error.

Meadows opened the second game with a single to center field and for the first time this season he was thrown out trying to steal second base.

In his final at bat- in the ninth inning- Meadows doubled to right field and drove in CSU’s final run of the game.
