The start of the 2019 has been somewhat frustrating for the Toombs County Bulldogs. Not their 2-0 record, but the effect the weather has had on two of the first three games scheduled. The Twiggs County home game only lasted 11 minutes due to two long lightning delays and now the Savannah Christian at Toombs County game has been cancelled with no make-up date.

The Bulldogs tried to find an opponent to take Savannah Christian’s place, but none was available. Toombs County’s next game will be on September 13 at Claxton and then the Bulldogs will take a week off before starting Region 2 play at home against the Metter Tigers on September 27.

The Savannah Christian game was suppose to be the Homecoming Game for the 2019 season. Homecoming will now be on October 11 when TCHS plays host to Bryan County.

There will be football this week on Thursday, September 5 at Booster Stadium with the Toombs County Middle School Bullpups playing host to Metter at 5 p.m. and the Toombs County B-Team taking on Appling County at 6:30.

Softball games scheduled for September 5 will also be played with the Toombs County Lady Bulldogs playing host to Swainsboro at 5:30 and the Toombs County Middle School Lady Bullpups playing at ECI at 4:30.
