Logan Martin has joined Wesley Woods and Calvin Wilcox as former Toombs County Bulldogs who have joined football coaching staff.
The last time Martin was a Dawg was back in 2013 when he was a starter on the Toombs County baseball team they made it to the Elite 8. Logan hit .313 in his senior season with five doubles and 12 RBI. Against Dublin, in the opening round of the GHSA State Playoffs, Logan went 2-for-3 and 2-for-2 in a doubleheader sweep on the road. In the second round at home- in a sweep of Fitzgerald- he went 1-for-1 and 1-for-4.
Logan had been working at the Wellness Center as a physical trainer prior to joining the coaching staff. “I missed the competition, my true love is sports,” Martin said. “I love investing in these kids and being around this football team and I feel like I have found the career I want to pursue.”
Martin says he has noticed a new attitude at his alma mater. “It is a lot different even when I was here. The culture. They are really trying to establish something here. Coach Marsh always talks about building that tradition and I think that starts all the way from him down to the coaching staff and the community. We are trying to build that tradition back.”
