
On Thursday Demetrius Owens is leaving Toombs County and traveling to Williamsburg, Kentucky to start his college football career with the University of the Cumberlands. Owens will be one of three former Bulldogs competing for playing time with the Patriots. Offensive lineman Willie Campbell is his second season and Ashlee Ashley- like Demetrius- will be a freshman.
Y-101 interview

Owens has always been a fine one-on-one tackler for the Toombs County Bulldogs. The senior averaged 5.8 tackles in the 10 games he played. He had a season-high 12 against Hancock Central and 11 versus Jeff Davis. He was also was credited with six TFL’s. For the second straight year Demetrius is a First-Team All-Region 2 defensive back.
