Young baseball Bulldogs prepare for 2020

The 2019 Toombs County baseball team was led by four seniors (Cole Graham, Brock Harrison, Bryce Deloach and Dalton Lynn) who combined batted .326 and were responsible for 53% of the Dawgs’ total hits and on the mound they pitched 65% of the innings and they claimed 13 of the team’s 16 victories.

Kodi Cortez

Looking ahead to the 2020 season head coach Derek James will be replacing the seniors with some young Bulldogs who have varsity experience. Kodi Cortez, Bryson Stanley and Jason Dukes all started games as freshmen. Chandler Lynn, Chase Musselman, Alex Gordy and Foster Jones also started as sophomores.

Trey Cloud is the only Bulldog who was was a full time starter as a junior.

The 2019 seniors all played in the infield and so this summer Stanley has been playing third base, Cortez shortstop, Gordy and Jones second base, Gray Stephens (Vidalia transfer who played B-Team in 2019) first base and Dukes has been behind the plate.

The Bulldogs played 10 games against outside competition and they went 6-4 plus they played intrasquad games.
