The 57th Lyons Youth Tournament wraps up with the Lyons Flea Boys winning the big trophy

How about winning the big trophy in your first Lyons Youth Tournament. Eleven of the 13 members of the Lyons 8 and under team were able to experience that on the final day of the 57th tourney. The Lyons All-Stars completed their undefeated run through the tournament with a 10-7 victory over Metter. The Fleas join the Midgets (11-12 years old) and the Juniors (13-14) as three Lyons Recreation Department teams which won LYT titles in 2019.

Zion Carroll broke open a tie game with three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Earlier in the tourney the Lyons Flea Boys scored a run in the first, four in the second, two in the third and six runs in the fourth in a 13-3 win over Swainsboro . In their second game Lyons took care of Metter 12-3. Next was an 8-0 victory over Reidsville which sent the local boys into the championship round as they won their third straight tourney. They also finished first in tourneys at Soperton and Vidalia. 

Lyons 13, Swainsboro 3

Cameron Brown, who bats third in the Lyons order, scored three runs and Zion Carroll and Kase Sikes each scored one.

Lyons Flea Boys 12, Metter 3

On Friday the first six Fleas scored a run in the first inning in their 12-3 win over Metter. Lyons scored two more in the third, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.

The Lyons Boys team- Cam Brown, Remmington Braddock, Kase Sikes, Carlos Diaz, Jacob Caraway, Austin Quintero, Brody Hutchison, Carmelo Ricks, Zion Carroll, Jackson Gooden, Joel Hussey Jr., Aarro Underwood and Layton Youmans.

Adam Caraway is the head coach and his assistants are Clint Sikes and Joel Hussey.
