In his senior season for the Toombs County Bulldogs Cole Graham was a clutch hitter, pitcher and defensive catcher. In the Georgia Dugout Senior All-Star Games played at Mercer University, Graham came through in the seventh inning twice and helped his Southeast team win two one run games.

On Friday, Cole- who was named First Team All-Region 2 AA as a catcher- caught the final three innings and threw out a base runner trying to steal third. Then in the final inning, with Southeast leading 9-8, there was a runner at second and two down when a Northeast batter singled into center field. Graham caught the throw from the outfield and tagged out the runner- on a close play- to end the game.

In Cole’s second game on Saturday against Northwest as a designated hitter he grounded out to second and walked and then he pitched the seventh inning with Southeast leading 13-12. The leadoff hitter reached on an infield hit to short. The second batter reached on a fielder’s choice on a ball hit to third base with the first out being recorded at second base. Graham got a called strike three for the second out and then a pop up to third to end the game as he earned the save.

Graham, who signed with Brewton-Parker College in May, played on a team with players who are headed to Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Mercer and The Citadel. Cole and Bacon County’s Adam Newberry were the only two Region 2 AA players to make the Southeast team.
