TCMS Bullpups wrap up the regular season with a 15-5 win over Portal

All nine Toombs County Middle School starters had at least one-hit in a regular season ending 15-5 home win over Portal. The Bullpups head to the post season as sub-region champs with a 12-7 overall record and they won five of their six region games.

Toombs County and Portal will meet again in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday, April 16 at 4 p.m.

Zeke Barnett went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Ashton Luke went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Carson Braddy 1-for-3 with a run scored, Will Watts 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Dawson Brantley 1-for-3 with a run scored, Bryar Douberly 1-for-3 with a run scored,  Neal Braddy 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Lucas O’Conner 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Jesus Quintero 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Neal Braddy pitched the first three innings and allowed two hits and one earned run with six strikeouts and two walks. Hunter Hitchcock handled the fourth inning and Demetrius Cutler threw the fifth. Cutler retired Portal three-up, three-down on a strikeout and two balls hit in the air to the shortstop.
