Trapping Indians beat the Bulldogs in the Region 2 Semifinals

The Vidalia Indians half court defense trap menaced the Toombs County Bulldogs in the semifinal round of the Region 2 Tournament at Vidalia. The Indians went on a 16-4 run in the fourth quarter in their 60-39 victory.

The Bulldogs will play Metter on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for third place in the region. Vidalia takes on Woodville-Tompkins for the championship at 6:30 for the championship. Woodville routed Metter 76-28 in the other semifinal game. All four teams are going to state playoffs. Region 2 plays Region 3 in the first round.

The Bulldogs trailed 13-7 after the first quarter and 34-21 at half. Drekari Jones swished a 15-footer a minute into fourth quarter to cut the Vidalia lead to 44-35 prior to the Indians’ run.
