Baseball Bulldog open practice stressing defense

The Toombs County Bulldogs, under new head coach Derek James, opened practice on Monday and for the first three days they have spent a lot of time working on defense.

The Bulldogs have been taking grounders, working on turning double plays and practicing their bunt defense. Seniors Dalton Lynn (third base) and Brock Harrison and Bryce Deloach- both working at short- plus sophomore Chase Musselman- at second base- are leading the way defensively in the infield with senior Cole Graham behind the plate.

The Bulldogs will scrimmage Treutlen at 5:45 p.m. on February 5th at Jacky Jones Field and then on February 12th at 5:45 they will open up the regular season with a home game against Telfair County.

Last season Telfair went 24-10 and played Gordon Lee for the GHSA A State Championship. The Trojans lost in two games- 7-1 and 10-0.
