Single A Montgomery County crossed the county line and came into Toombs County and took a pair of late Saturday afternoon games in Lyons. The Lady Eagles won 36-24 and the Eagles prevailed 78-47.
The boys game was tied at 18 after the opening quarter. However, the Eagles turned on their full court press and opened up a 37-23 at half. Both Toombs County teams are 0-4 overall and 0-1 in Region 2.
Assistant coach Robert George once again coached the Bulldogs and will also do so when the Dawgs play at Jeff Davis on Tuesday. Head coach Ryan Lewis received two technical fouls in Friday’s loss to Metter and he is restricted from coaching two full games. Former Bulldog coach Donnie Arrington is the head coach of 4-0 and 1-0 Jeff Davis. Robert grew up with Arrington’s sons Chase and Ryan.
