The Toombs County Lady Bullpups improved to 5-0 with a 44-29 road victory at Metter. The Lady Bullpups expanded a 9-8 first quarter lead into a double-digit advantage with their tenacious defensive pressure. The girls outscored Metter 13-2 in the second quarter and 15-8 in the third.
K.K. Mobley, who was in foul trouble in the first half in the Monday win at Collins, did not commit a single foul in this game. She had numerous steals, made two 3-pointers and led her team with 19 points. Ziahaya Griffin also sank two 3-balls and scored 12 points. Trinity Robinson had 8, Chantavia Howard 2 and Brandi Sharpe 1.
In the boys game Metter scored in double-digits in each of the four six minute quarters and led 16-13 after one and 27-20 at half. The Tigers pushed the lead to double-digits in the second half and won 47-35.
Maleke Day led TCMS with 12 points. He hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter and one in the fourth. However, Metter defended him with several different players and held him scoreless in the second and third quarters. Silas Legrant made two 3-pointers and scored 8 points, Jashaun Powell had 6 and Hunter Herndon, Gage Herndon and Breylan McMillan each scored 4 for the 4-1 Bullpups.
