TCMS basketball teams go 3-0 with home wins over Portal

The Toombs County Middle School basketball teams closed out their pre-Thanksgiving schedule with a pair of home wins over Portal improving each team’s record to 3-0. K.K. Mobley scored 21 points and Ziahaya Griffin added 11 in the Lady Bullpups 39-13 win and Silas Legrand tossed in 13 points and Maleke Day chipped in 12 in the Bullpups 33-25 victory.

The Bullpups, who sank 13 3-pointers against Collins on Monday, hit only two against Portal. Day hit a 3-ball in the first quarter and one in the fourth. Octvavious Roberts scored all eight of his points in the second half. The Herndon brothers- Gage and Hunter- hammered the boards collecting many offensive and defensive rebounds which limited Portal’s shots and helped the Pups by giving them extra offensive field goal opportunities. Gage also scored two points in the second quarter.

Trinity Robinson scored 4 points for the Lady Bullpups and Lauren Hattaway had 2.
