TCMS basketball teams open up the season with double-digit home wins

The Toombs County Middle School basketball season opened with the Lady Bullpups and Bullpups each defeating Bryan County by double-digits in the TCMS Gym. K.K. Mobley scored 27 to lead the Lady Bullpups to a 41-7 victory and Maleke Day tossed in 17 points in the Bullpups 38-23 win. Both teams ended last season with double-digit playoff losses to Bryan County.

Mobley, who scored 17 points in the first half and 10 in the second, sank one 3-pointer and made both of her free throws. Day made five 3-pointers and scored 11 of his points in the first half. Both teams dominated in the second half. The Lady Bullpups outscored Bryan 20-2 in the second half and the Pups pushed their lead into double-digits in the second half.

Ziahya Griffin and Malaya Preston each scored 4 points for the Lady Bullpups and Trinity Robinson, Amarionna Smith and Chantavia Howard added 2 each.

Silas Legrant scored 10 for the Bullpups, Hunter Herndon had 8 and Gage Herndon and Braylan McMillion each chipped in 2.

Matthew Parker is the coach of the Bullups and this was his first career win as a head coach. Niesha Bell is back coaching the Lady Bullpups this season.
