The 6th Grade Toombs County Middle School football team played Jeff Davis twice during the regular season and the Bullpups lost 16-7 at JD and played the Yellow Jackets to a scoreless tie in Booster Stadium. However, in the championship game of the league the Pups prevailed 12-9 in Hazelhurst.

Jeff Davis kicked a first quarter field goal and took a 3-0 lead. Toombs County drove down the field and scored on an 8-yard run by Artavis Williams. Jeff Davis attempted a second field goal and missed with two seconds remaining in the half.

So, the Bullpups got the ball back and head coach John McDonald dialed up the perfect play call. Quarterback Demetrius Cutler threw a pass to Jashaun Powell. The tall receiver caught the ball at the Pup 38-yard line and he made a juke move which freed him from two Yellow Jackets and then he ran the final 45-yards, in a 82-yard touchdown play, which ended up being the game-winning score.

Jeff Davis intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to cut the Bullpup lead to three points.
