TCMS Lady Bullpups hit double-digits in playoff win over Collins

In the first week of the regular season the Toombs County Middle School Lady Bullpup softball team lost to Collins 17-13 in a wild game in Lyons. In the rematch in Lyons, in the first round of the playoffs, the Lady Bullpups hit double-digits again. However, the combination of Lauren Hattaway’s pitching and some nice defensive plays limited Collins to single digits in a 11-3 TCMS five-inning win.

At the plate Lily Keairns drove in four runs in three plate appearances and K.K. Mobley hit an inside-the-park home run which scored three runs.

On defense Ziahya Griffin caught a liner and tagged out a runner at third to complete a double play. Emma Salter snagged a sinking liner in right field and Krista Cantwell reached up a caught a liner in center field. Keairns dove in left field and cut off a ball and held the Collins hitter to a single.
