TCHS competition cheerleaders open season with their Cheer Dawg Classic

The Cheer Dawg Classic returns on September 16 after a one-year absence and the Toombs County High School competition cheerleading team will open up the season in their gym. Although they will be performing they won’t be competing for a trophy. Fifteen teams are expected to compete on Saturday morning with the middle school girls beginning at 10 and the varsity at 11:30.

The Cheer Dawgs have a new coaching staff this season with former TCMS coach Jamie Lewis leading the way and assisting her is Nicole Roberts. Lewis most recently coached at Statesboro High School for the past four years.

This season the Cheer Dawgs will have 16 girls on the mat and four different stunt teams with four flyers instead of the usual three. Emma Lucke, Makenzie Grimes, Brooke Morris and Kiley Banks will all be in the air this season.
