Meet the Toombs County fall sports teams

The Toombs County High School and Middle School 2017-18 sports year begins on Tuesday, August 8 at 4:30 p.m. when the Toombs County High School Lady Bulldog softball team plays at Islands High School in Savannah. The Lady Bulldogs will play their first home game on Thursday, August 10 versus Jeff Davis at 5:30.

The Toombs County football team will scrimmage at Hephzibah on Friday, August 11 at 7 p.m. and then eight days later the Bulldogs will open the season at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro. TCHS will play the first game of the second day of the Erk Russell Classic with the kickoff set for 5 p.m.. The second game of the evening will feature a rematch between Screven County and Bluffton (South Carolina). Last season, in the Classic, Bluffton overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat the Gamecocks 32-25.

The Toombs County volleyball team opens up with home matches against Ware County and West Laurens on Tuesday, August 15.

The fall sports teams for TCHS and TCMS were introduced after the football scrimmage game on August 4 in the Pit.
