Thursday, August 3 was a defensive day for the Toombs County Bulldogs and the second day in pads opened up with the defensive secondary getting plenty of work in both one-on-one match ups and team defensive. Rule number one for anybody in the secondary is not to get beat deep.
In their last game, at Screven County in the playoffs, the Dawgs yielded two passing touchdowns, on plays of 40 and 75-yards, which turned a 7-3 Gamecock lead into a 21-3 Bulldog deficit.
Safety Dalton McBride intercepted two passes in the drills in the first hour of practice. Head coach Richie Marsh and defensive secondary coach Hunter Adams worked with the Bulldogs on pass defense.
