Normally one or two Lyons All Star teams qualify for state each summer. However, this year five teams are competing for a GRPA State Championship. The Lyons Flea, Midget and Junior softball teams are all going to state along with the Flea and Mite baseball teams.

The 8 and under Flea Girls earned their state tourney bid by finishing second in the District 1 Tournament at Rincon. Lyons opened with two victories over Effingham- Sand Hill 25-3 and Rincon 13-11. The the girls lost to Dublin 10-9, rebounded with an 11-6 win over Rincon and then lost a second one-run game to Dublin 11-10 to finish second.

In the Lyons Youth Tournament, Lyons beat Swainsboro 11-8, lost to Appling 7-1 and then the All Stars won three straight losers bracket games- 27-2 over Vidalia, 11-10 against Jeff Davis and then in a rematch against Appling Lyons prevailed 25-14. Bacon won the championship with a 15-3 victory over Lyons.

Members of the Flea Girls team are Makenna Gardisser, Mariska Smith, Natalie Quintero, Rayne Sears, Emerson Powell, Alina Diaz, Alivia Patrick, Emily Carter, Ava Martin, Josie Kight, Randi Rollins, Bentlee Beasley, Marlee Yeomans.
