Bulldogs play host to a big OTA

Last summer the Toombs County Bulldog football team traveled to Pierce County and Dublin to for OTA’s. This summer the Dawgs are bringing the competition to Lyons. OTA’s are a creation of the NFL and the term stands for organized team activities.

On Tuesday morning the Bulldogs were matched up against Statesboro and Macon County. The Bulldog offensive would run a series of plays against each team and then the Dawgs would play defense against those two squads. Statesboro had a big quarterback who could run and throw and a back who was elusive.

Macon County went 12-2 in 2016 and those Bulldogs shutout McIntosh County Academy 35-0 to win the Class A Public School State Championship.

Keshawn Morgan fired through a hole, created by the Bulldog offensive line, and scored on a long touchdown run. In a goal line drill Alex Hunt also scored a Dawg TD.

Bulldog quarterback Dalton McBride threw the ball to a variety of receivers and he also used his speed to pick up first downs on several clever runs.
