The Lyons Midget Boys drew a familiar opponent in their first game of the District 1 Tournament at Little Fenway at Partin Park. Lyons lost two games to Twin City in the Lyons Youth Tournament. In a rematch Twin City took a 4-0 lead, Lyons rallied and jumped up 5-4 and then Twin City scored six straight runs in a 10-5 victory.
In the top of the third Twin City’s Lawson Mercer singled in a run and then Twin City hit a two-run homer to take a 4-0 lead. Lyons loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth and Neal Braddy hit a grand slam over the right field fence to tie the game at 4-all. Ashton Luke put Lyons up 5-4 with a ground ball to the mound which scored Mason Braddy.
In the fifth inning Twin City singled in a run and then Mercer hit another Little Fenway homer in his career- a two-run smash way over the Green Monster.
