Toombs County soccer teams end season with shutout wins in Metter

The regular season is over for the Toombs County High School soccer teams and the Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs ended it with shutout victories in Metters. The Lady Bulldogs scored three goals in each half and won 6-0. The Bulldogs scored all four of their goals in the second half in their 4-0 victory.

The Bulldogs will play at Benedictine next week for the Region 2 championship. The Cadets won the regular season match between the two 3-1. The Lady Bulldogs will be playing host to the third place match. Both teams finished with 11-2 overall records and they were both 8-2 in the region. The Bulldogs also lost a home match to Vidalia 1-0. The Lady Bulldogs lost at Vidalia and in Savannah to St. Vincent’s.

Jose Cerros scored a pair of goals in Metter and Gerry Tinoco (penalty kick) and Isai Sanchez each scored one.
