Cody Ogilvie threw a two-hitter and stroked three hits with two runs batted in to lead the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets to a 10-0. six inning home win over the Toombs County Bulldogs.
D.R. Meadows, Ogilvie’s Game On teammate during last summer, opened the game with a first pitch single up the middle. The Bulldogs other hit was a one-out single in the second by Cole Graham.
The Bulldogs started a lineup based on defense. Meadows, who normally is the starting pitcher on Thursday’s and Friday’s in Region 2 games, was at short. Dalton McBride made his first Bulldog start at third base and Dalton Lynn was across the diamond at first. The Bulldogs, who had allowed 26 unearned runs in their last five region games, only made one error against Jeff Davis and two of the runs were unearned.
