Toombs County head baseball coach Brian Fitzgerald calls a hard hit ball which is caught for an out an “At’em Ball”. The coach counted seven of those in the Bulldogs season opening 7-5 loss at Tattnall County. The Dawgs only had two hits. Martin Stephens broke up Trinton Rhoden’s no-hitter with a leadoff single in the top of the fourth and George Lucke singled to center field, off reliever Jacob Todd, to drive in TCHS’s final run with one out in the seventh. Galin Salem also drove in a run by hitting to the right side of the infield.

The Bulldogs opened the game stranding Lane Adams, who walked, at third and then in the bottom of the first the Warriors stroked five hits- three singles and two doubles- and they opened up a 4-0 lead. The Bulldog rallied and cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of the sixth.
